Wolf Heimlich is a very tall security man in a military-style uniform. He is a strict German guard who works at the Leyendecker Museum.
Description[]
Wolf has scars on his face given to him by his father, who taught him how to duel with a saber. He would received a few more scars dueling with friends. He believes in maintaining his health through proper exercise, good diet, and no alcohol. He also is the master of The Heimlich Death Maneuver, and has written a book about it which may be found in the bookshelf in his office.
Wolf is passionate about his job as chief of security at the museum. He obeys orders without question and keeps his eyes on intruders. He also seems to be very fond of Dr. Olympia Myklos.
In a conversation with Laura Bow about the burglary at the museum, it is hinted that his hatred of thieves in general, and art thieves in particular, stems from an incident long ago where his mother's paintings were stolen from a museum in Germany during her first art exhibition. During the conversation, he works himself up trying to imagine how the thief who stole the Dagger of Amon Ra could have stolen the dagger without his catching them. For a moment, he is lost in memories of the past, pleading to his mother to paint again despite the loss of her paintings.[1][2] He seems to blame himself for his failure to prevent the theft.
Wolf occasionally gets his laundry done at a German laundry mat on 39th street when Lo Fat is inconvenient for him. He prefers the German laundry mat since they are usually open all the time.
Act II[]
Wolf is first seen at the main entrance to the museum charity party, and takes Laura Bow's press pass to allow her entry. He occasionally patrols the museum, guarding both the Mastodon Exhibit and the Old Masters Gallery. He then catches her snooping in the Gift Shoppe at 7:30 PM. After Pippin Carter disappears from the party, Wolf is no longer guarding the Mastodon Exhibit, but still guards the Old Masters Gallery.
Act III[]
After the murder of Dr. Pippin Carter, Detective Ryan O'Riley and Wolf take various statements from the guests to piece together what happened. They then warn Laura not to get involved with the investigation.
While Wolf isn't seen wandering the museum, he still maintains a certain presence throughout the night and can be found in his office sometimes. He switches between guarding the Alcoholic Preservation Lab and checking out Dr. Carrington's office. He later has an intimate moment with Olympia in his office.
A little before 10:00, he has another intimate moment with Olympia, proclaiming that he would do anything for her; even murder. They briefly ponder who else might die tonight, and then they both revel in their dark humor.
Between 10:15 PM and 11:15, Laura discovers the body of an unknown headless victim pinned under the weight of a Pterodactyl statue. She soon finds the decapitated head of Ziggy mounted on the wall of the Life Mask Exhibit, causing her to scream and alert O'Riley and Wolf. The two then have a slight argument over their professions, with Wolf questioning the detective's skills and O'Riley criticizing the guard's security methods. They finally get back on track and take off to bring some crime scene tools.
At 2:00, Wolf meets with Olympia at the Medieval Armor Exhibit to show off his fencing scars.
At 2:15 PM, Wolf complains to O'Riley in the Old Masters Gallery about smelling of alcohol and eating grapes. Laura then reports to O'Riley and Wolf about the murder of Ernie Leach. Wolf becomes distrustful of her since she always seems to be the first person to find dead bodies, but O'Riley eases him off and reassures that they'll get to the bottom of it.
Act IV[]
While Wolf isn't seen wandering the museum, he still maintains a certain presence throughout the night and can be found in his office sometimes. He was meant to have a meeting with Yvette Delacroix at the Preservation Lab at 3:00, but neither show up.
Wolf's Epilogue[]
Worst Ending[]
Indirectly as a result of Laura's total failure, Wolf Heimlich was fired from his job as Chief of Security at the Leyendecker Museum. One year later, still out of work, he committed suicide in military fashion by falling on his sword.
Bad Ending[]
Since Laura recovered the Dagger of Amon Ra, Wolf Heimlich was allowed to keep his job as Chief of Security at the Leyendecker Museum. However, one week later he was found dead in his office, impaled by a broadsword that had fallen from his office wall.
Good Ending[]
As a result of Laura's failure to find the Dagger of Amon Ra, Wolf Heimlich was fired from his job as Chief of Security for the Leyendecker Museum.
Best Ending[]
Due to Laura's success at recovering the Dagger of Amon Ra and finding the murderer, Wolf Heimlich continued as Chief of Security at the Leyendecker Museum. Two months later, he was married to Dr. Olympia Myklos. Two years after they were married, Wolf and Olympia had a child they named Morgana Wolf Heimlich.
