The Rotunda is the initial area of the Leyendecker Museum one encounters after entering. Rarely are exhibits housed here, but at the western end is a massive urn containing the ashes of Arvin Slatherlord Loudermilk III, architect of the museum, and at the eastern end is an urn housing the ashes of Ignatz Leyendecker, who financed the museum's construction in 1897. The center is dominated by a colossal bust of the pharaoh Rameses II.
The Gift Shoppe can be accessed at the east end of the Rotunda. The Mastodon Exhibit, and the rest of the museum, can be accessed from the north side of the center of the Rotunda.
The Rotunda is where the fund-raiser party in Act II of The Dagger of Amon Ra occurs.
