Rathotep was a pharaoh who ruled in the 14th dynasty. The mummy case found in the Mummy Storage room of the Leyendecker Museum is considered to be a rare piece, as much of the evidence of his rule was destroyed after his death.
Rathotep tried unsucessfully to introduce worship of the rodent goddess Munchhahton, but this proved to be unpopular and he was judged a heretic.
